Johannes Brahms Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny)

Robert Schumann Symphony No. 1 “Spring”

To bring the Clara Schumann Festival to a close, we include music composed by a friend of the Schumanns, Johannes Brahms with one of his best known choral pieces, Schicksalslied “Song of Destiny,” alongside Clara Schumann’s choral works in a new orchestral arrangement by our very own choral conductor, William Cowdery. Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto is performed by Horseheads native and Juilliard graduate Benjamin Pawlak. Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 1 “Spring”concludes the OSFL’s concert season.  These cheerful pieces will awaken spring within all of us and offer a delightful way to spend Mother’s Day Eve.

Dates/times/programs/protocols subject to change.
